Palm Oil plantations are a major driver behind deforestation in areas right across the world. It is incredible how many consumer products contain Palm Oil, not just soap, but chocolate bars, butter, makeup, washing powder, etc the list is long… Click here to see which big branded products you’ll find contain palm oil.

Why is this such an urgent issue? Well take Sumatra for example. There are fewer than 6,700 Sumatran Orangutans surviving in the wild due to the increasing deforestation of their habitat for palm oil production. It is predicted that the Sumatran orangutan will be the first Great Ape species to become extinct in the wild if current trends continue. Imagine a world where we let these beautiful creatures go exstinct!
